Air silencer on 73 evinrude 115?

I have a 1973 evinrude 115 (115393M). When I bought the boat it was missing the air silencer on the front of the carb. Air silencers for this model are no longer made.. So is there anyway I could make something where my boat will not ingest water? Please help.. I'm dying.
