I've had my piercing for 3 years. For 2 and 1/2 years i've had a ring and the other 1/2 a stud.?

When I initially got it pierced I started out with a ring. (I did get it pierced by a professional) Within the first few months I got it pierced it developed a large red bump and no matter how much anti bacterial stuff and salt soaks I did it wouldn't go away. Eventually I switched over to a stud and it seemed to do it a little better....maybe the bump was less prominent due to the stud. Then one day I got sick and had to take anti-biotics and while I was on anti-biotics the bump almost went away completely. After I stopped taking the medicine a tiny bump has reappeared. I thought it was rejection or scar tissue now I realize my nose has been infected for a while now but I really love my nose ring and nose piercing and I would be heartbroken if I had to take it out. Besides after three years and two rounds of anti-biotics you would think it would go away and stay away. What is going on and what is a girl to do?
