Trying to join a group?

Hi um in school im trying to fit in with a group of people that are funny and they wont let me in and im asking this kid to help me and all hes said to me is make up jokes or ask them. I dont know what to do because everytime in recess they think im following them. What should i do i dont want to like ask them what to do to be their friends i need another way and so i want to get in and so that im their friends
